This image is created from a single block of linoleum, inked and printed 5 times, carving away a bit more of the block each time. The REALLY hard part is getting the block lined up correctly on the paper each time so that the layers of ink overlap properly. The colors were printed in the following order: pale yellow, deep yellow, red, pale red, black. So in other words, under the darkest layer (black) is every other color that was printed.
